Langley Mustangs Send Team of 8 Athletes to the National Legion Youth Championship in Nova Scotia

“The Langley Mustangs competing at the National Youth Championships in Cape Breton had a strong showing and a lot of success, including winning a gold medal, showcasing its premier youth development program.” –Head Coach, Andrew Lenton

  • ​Aiden Grout (U18) – becomes National Champion earning a Gold Medal in High Jump (2.01m) 
  • ​Harrison Trustham (U18) – Bronze Medal in 110m Hurdles (15.02s) and 8th place in 400m Hurdles (58.31s)
  • Felix Allen (U18) coming off a serious hamstring injury placed 4th in 400m Hurdles (56.31s)
  • Holly Harrison (U18) had consistently strong performances in all her events to finish 5th place in Heptathlon (4331 pts)
  • Madison Gordon (U15) –  had a big personal best in the long jump of 4.93m which helped to earn a 6th place in Pentathlon (2661 pts) and 11th place in 80m Hurdles (13.15s)
  • Jake Schmidt (U18) – 7th place in High Jump (1.85m)
  • Sheleena Wiley (U18) – 9th place in 200m (25.99s) and 11th place in 100m (12.75s)
  • Jade Lenton (U18) – 11th place in 400m (58.86s)

Langley Mustangs Track Club Strikes Multiple Golds at Provincials

The Langley Mustangs recently travelled to Kamloops to compete at the 2019 BC Track and Field Championship Jamboree for U16, U18, U20, and Senior aged athletes. This meet finishes off the main outdoor season for club athletes with some athletes continuing on to compete at the National Championships in July and August. The Mustangs took home several medals, earned many top 8 finishes, and achieved several personal best performances as they competed for a spot on the provincial team.

​Top 8 Finishes:

  • Alina Olson (U18) – 100m
  • Samantha Matthewman (U20) – 400m
  • Leah Bakker (U18) – 800m, 1500m
  • Lindsay Carson (Senior) – 1500m
  • Regan Yee (Senior)- 1500m
  • Daniela Sada (U16)- high jump
  • Nolan McEachern (U18)- high jump
  • Owen Flack (U16)- 300m
  • Richard Midgley (U20) – 400m
  • Harrison Trustham (U18) – 400m hurdles

Bronze Medallists:

  • Jake Schmidt (U18) – high jump (1.85m)
  • Brooke Mussche (U20) – 800m (2:13.21)
  • Harrison Trustham (U18) – 110m hurdles 
  • Tate Wyatt (U20) – 1500m

Silver Medallists:

  • Holly Harrison (U18) – heptathlon
  • Zachary Wyatt (U20) – 1500m, 3000m steeplechase
  • Kevin Hughes (U20) – 400m dash
  • Felix Allen (U18) – 400m hurdles (56.29)

Gold Medallists:

  • Tate Wyatt (U20) – 3000m steeplechase
  • Lindsay Carson (Senior) – 5000m
  • Madison Gordon (U16) – pentathlon
  • Ian Vandergugten (U20) – 110m hurdles
  • Jade Lenton (U18) – 400m
